Summer CelebrationOn Wednesday 13th July we opened the school to our friends, neighbours, parents, carers, former students and colleagues for an afternoon of celebrations. Thank you to everyone who came along to help us celebrate our 50th birthday. Our year of celebrations culminated in an afternoon of performances, exhibitions, showcases, activities and frivolities which we shared with our community. We were delighted that so many old friends, former colleagues and students were able to attend. We enjoyed a speech from former Head, Sir Nick Williams which paid tribute to another former Head, Colin Yardley who was also in attendance. We planted an oak tree grown by a current student during lockdown and attempted to bury our Tallis Time Capsule! We are grateful to the PTFA for hosting a barbecue and an ice cream van was on hand to help keep everyone cool. Each department had prepared a showcase of work and the concourse was filled with music, dance and dramatic recitation. We were treated to performances by members of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Thomas Tallis Society sang a version of the Tallis Canon, accompanied by the orchestra, Year 7, 8 and 10 bands. It was a wonderful and moving occasion. If you missed it, do take a look at the photographs.

Attendees were all given a copy of 'A Tallis Tale', a booklet which charts the history of the school and celebrates our comprehensive status. Here's a digital version:
